Meditation: A Science and An Art – Engage Both!

Meditation Flyer
Reaching a desired meditation experience requires the pairing of an understanding of science and application of specific skills. The science includes knowledge of brainwave patterns associated with different levels of mental activity. The art consists of learning techniques that are most likely to induce the desired levels of mental activity.  Extensive testing of meditators, from novices to advanced, has revealed that engagement of different brainwave activity levels results in different meditation experiences.

For thousands of years meditation has been an integral spiritual practice in many traditions to clear one’s mind, observe and experience other-than-conscious realms of mind and to generate heightened awareness of Essence or the Divine.

Just a few of the benefits of meditation include restorative relaxation, memory enhancement, accelerated learning and mind-altering depth practices.  Attaining these results depends greatly on artfully applying techniques that guide the brain into various levels of activity.

Whether interested in enhancing one’s own meditation practice or facilitating meditation experiences for others, the key to achieving a desired outcome depends on applying the correct approach: selecting the brainwave pattern associated with the desired experience, then utilizing the appropriate skill to induce that brainwave pattern.

In this 5 week course, you will learn how you can “guide” yourself or facilitate the process for others by growing your understanding of:
  • Array of styles of meditative practices such as contemplative, relaxation, mindfulness, somatic practices, enhanced achievement and the results they produce
  • Which brainwave patterns are associated with various mental activities
  • How to vary guiding techniques in order to induce particular brainwave patterns.
