April 7th – 14 week Class with Eugene Holden

Register Here

Ignite Your Life with Bible Wisdom in 14-class sessions! Jesus used short stories called parables to convey profound spiritual truths. The parables charge our spiritual journey with energy and our soul with light. During this course, students are introduced to ways to interpret stories from the Hebrew Bible, as a foundation for understanding the teachings of Jesus. Students become familiar with the power of parable stories as inspiration for transforming the soul. The ancient parables come to life as students learn to relate them to the challenges of today’s world. Students will engage in discussions, role-playing, and problem-solving exercises, as well as creative arts expressions. There is no prerequisite for this course.

As she tells the story, “I was 15, kind of a nerd with braces, acne, and straightening my curly hair every day. One day I came home from school and Carole’s piano was in my bedroom. She was remodeling her house and needed a place to store it for a few months. That was my opening to pursue my dream of being a singer/songwriter just like her. I taught myself how to play piano, wrote cheesy, teenage-angst-songs and fell in love with music.”

When she went to Hollywood High she discovered acting, comedy, and the joy of being on stage. She idolized Carol Burnett and dreamed of being a musical comedy actress. After high school she moved to San Francisco to go to school but also to develop her act in the comedy clubs. For more about Karen, go to: www.karendrucker.com

His dream, as far back as he can remember, was to be part of the transformation in his own community so it made sense that he was drawn to charity work. He didn’t want any other children to experience the need that he had, so he helped found a number of charities and community initiatives to fulfill his dream of being part of the solution to the ills in the world. In 2004, together with three of his young friends, he founded Furaha Community Foundation which is still providing quality education for hundreds of poor children in Huruma slums of Nairobi. Later, in Kisumu, a rural village in Western Kenya, he founded Cecilia’s Family Village (Cecilia’s Children organization) which focuses on wholistic empowerment of orphans and vulnerable children through education and strengthening the rural family units.
