Attachment is a fascinating concept: we get attached to people, places, beliefs, things and behaviors. Often we foster those attachments even when they are detrimental to our physical, mental and even spiritual wellbeing. We blindly, habitually move toward what is familiar even though we are dissatisfied with the experiences we associate with it. Some of us have been known to complain about those situations while resisting doing something about it. Attachment sounds a lot like addiction – engaging in unhealthy dependency .
In the early 1920’s Dr. Holmes coined the phrase, “change your thinking, change your life.” Simply choose and release any attachment and the ripple effect will alter all facets of your life! Learn to differentiate between attachments that are serving you and those that are not. This may be trickier than you think. Clear away the debris in your life and move into joy, aliveness and freedom!
